JKG Accounting is licensed with the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) with the Common Interest Community Board as a Manager.
The Common Interest Community Board regulates common interest community managers, as well as certain employees of licensed management firms. The Board’s authority also includes condominium and time-share project registrations, and extends to transactions occurring within Virginia, even if the property involved is located outside the Commonwealth. Property owner, condominium, and cooperative associations are required to file annual reports with the Board.
As of January 1st 2009, anyone providing management services, as defined in VA Code § 54.1-2346, to property owners associations must be licensed as a Common Interest Community (CIC) Manager through DPOR (VA Dept. of Professional and Occupational Regulation). To become licensed, a CIC manager must complete a comprehensive course of study approved by the state, meet experience requirements, complete continuing education courses, and be fully bonded. Jeanie has been licensed since 2009, and is one of only three in the Moneta area that holds the Common Interest Community Manager License.
